This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it. It applies to luxurylakecountryhomes.com, operated by Bill Jackson, Sales Representative, and the Lake Country Real Estate Team, brokered by eXp Realty.

The law that applies
Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) governs how we handle personal information. Ontario has no general private-sector privacy statute of its own, so the federal law applies here. Commercial email is additionally governed by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and our handling of client information is subject to Ontario real estate legislation and to the rules of the real estate boards whose listing data we display.
What we collect
When you contact us. Your name, email address, telephone number, and whatever you choose to tell us in your message.
When you book an appointment. Scheduling is handled through Calendly, which collects your name, email address, time zone, and any answers you give to booking questions.
When you search for properties. If property search on this site requires an account, that registration collects your name, email address and telephone number, and thereafter records your saved searches, saved listings and search activity so the service can function.
Automatically, as you browse. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how long you stay, and the site you arrived from. This is collected through cookies and website analytics.
What we do not collect. This website does not take payment information. We do not ask for your Social Insurance Number, financial account details or health information through this site.
Why we collect it

- To meet record-keeping obligations that apply to registered real estate professionals in Ontario
Consent, and taking it back
When you send us your information through this site, we treat that as your consent to use it for the purpose you sent it for. For commercial email we rely on your express consent, or on an existing business relationship where the law permits.
You can withdraw consent at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us directly. We will act on it. Some withdrawals will limit what we are able to do for you; if that is the case we will tell you plainly rather than quietly ignoring the request.
Who your information is shared with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone.
We use the following service providers to run this business. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- WP Engine — website hosting
- Showcase IDX — property search and, where applicable, search registration
- Follow Up Boss — client relationship management
- Calendly — appointment scheduling
- Google Analytics — website analytics
- eXp Realty — our brokerage, where a transaction or regulatory obligation requires it
Storage outside Canada. Several of these providers are based in the United States, which means your information may be stored or processed there. While it is in another country it is subject to that country’s laws, including lawful access by its courts and authorities, regardless of the protections that apply in Canada. We tell you this because the law requires it and because you are entitled to know.
We may also disclose personal information where we are required or permitted to do so by law, or to a real estate board or regulator where their rules require it.
Listing data
Property listings shown on this site are supplied under licence from the relevant real estate board. That data remains owned and controlled by the board and is governed by its rules, not ours. Where board rules require us to identify registered users of a property search to the board, we do so in accordance with those rules.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, cookies that remember your preferences, and analytics cookies that tell us how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them may stop parts of the site — property search in particular — from working.
Every commercial email we send identifies who we are, tells you how to reach us, and carries a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe requests are actioned within ten business days, as the law requires, and usually far sooner.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and for as long as Ontario real estate legislation and our brokerage’s record-keeping requirements oblige us to. After that it is securely destroyed or anonymised.
How it is protected
This site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to client information is limited to those who need it. We use established service providers with their own security programs. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but if a breach occurred that created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or ask us to stop using it. Write to bill@lcre.team. We will respond within thirty days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
If you are not satisfied
Tell us first — most things are resolved in a phone call. If you are still not satisfied, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: priv.gc.ca, or 1-800-282-1376.
Children
This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of eighteen.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged clearly rather than slipped in.
